Nurse Mentorship
The Home Options Network is focused on mentoring nurses new to Peritoneal Dialysis in both clinical and practical skills. The mentorship is related to managing and training patients, home clinic management, and understanding of CMS Conditions for Coverage. Support is provided through personalized on-site mentorship, online educational offerings, conference calls and phone support.
Mentoring program includes:
- Principles of Peritoneal Dialysis
- Fundamentals of patient training
- Patient follow-up and home visits
- Home clinic management
- Compliance with CfC – including COVID-19 and Emergency Preparedness
- Importance of QAPI
- Clinical outcomes management – infection monitoring, adequacy
