Opportunity exists to increase the use of PD among African & Hispanic Americans
- Higher incidence of ESKD in African and Hispanic Americans compared to white Americans yet they are less likely to receive PD
- Prevalence of ESRD was 3.4 times higher in Blacks than Whites based on USRDS 2018 data1
- Baxter is committed to supporting education and awareness, to increase PD access for all ethnicities and patient types. This includes, the Black K.A.R.E (Kidney Awareness, Resources and Education) program, a website dedicated to kidney health for the Black American community
